Bridging Time: From Tradition to Contemporary Expression in Toda Attire

As part of the History of Costumes study at NIFT Hyderabad ,this project explores the traditional costumes of the Todas tribe in the Nilgiri hills, unraveling their cultural significance. Drawing inspiration from this rich heritage, a contemporary design collection is ideated infused with Toda motifs, colors, and craftsmanship techniques. This project aims to honor the legacy of the Todas while offering a modern interpretation that celebrates their timeless elegance in today's fashion landscape.
